Prada S/S 2023 collection

The collection’s aesthetic is heavily influenced by the visually captivating films of Nicolas Winding Refn. Drawing from the dark, thriller-like ambiance of his works, the artist crafted an illustration that serves as both a standalone piece and a movie-poster-style campaign. Inspired by the action-crime classic Drive and the surreal, hypnotic tones of The Neon Demon, the illustration captures the bold, cinematic essence of Refn’s signature style, blending storytelling with striking visual design.

PH5 Official S/S 2023 collection

After exploring the vastness of space last season, PH5 turned their gaze to the mysteries of the ocean, drawing inspiration from the transparent and ethereal qualities of underwater life. This shift brought a light and whimsical energy to the collection, blending elements of action, drama, and adventure into the underwater world of PH5.

Grartus embraced this theme by incorporating intricate oceanic details and fluidity into their work. This marks a distinctive approach, where the focus extended beyond illustrating garments to capturing the overall mood and storytelling of the collection, complete with immersive backgrounds. It was a true creative deep dive into the ocean’s endless inspiration.

Avaro Figlio

The illustration stands out for its distinct style, setting it apart from previous works. Grartus paid meticulous attention to background details, enriching the overall composition. The silhouettes of the garments exude elegance, while the color palette is nothing short of mesmerizing, adding depth and charm to the creation.

Gucci S/S 2023 collection

Grartus drew inspiration from Alessandro Michele’s captivating concept, “Welcome to Twinsburg.” They selected a standout print from the collection, drawn to its rich color palette and intricate motifs. Additionally, they incorporated one of the collection’s accessories, blending it seamlessly with the Gremlins to highlight the major elements of Michele’s vision. The stuffed animal handbags, designed as Gremlins, became a playful and iconic feature in the interpretation, adding a unique twist to the artwork.

Schiaparelli S/S 2023 collection : Exhibition at the Hôtel d’Evreux by Daniel Roseberry

Inspired by these exceptional details, Grartus incorporated them into their illustration, which evokes the essence of a Schiaparelli window display. Themed as a chic circus, the artwork beautifully captures the theatrical elegance and avant-garde spirit of the collection.

Christopher Kane’s collection SS 23

The collection was a vivid depiction of the designer’s clinical obsessions, unconventional use of materials, and unabashed celebration of sexuality—all reimagined in fresh and innovative ways. Key highlights included clear vinyl body-brace straps paired with inset lace bra cups, pastel organza and white lingerie-lace-edged skirts doubled into loops, and patent kitten-heel pumps adorned with playful bunny ears.

At its core, the collection’s forensic-inspired details served as a poignant reminder of human mortality, balanced by an invitation to revel in the beauty of our bodies while we can. Flowers, symbolizing both love and death, added a poetic contrast to the narrative. The illustration captured this duality, blending the forensic precision with the delicate beauty of flowers to create a deeply evocative and meaningful composition.

Tribute Illustration Inspired by Rahul Mishra's Tree of Life Haute Couture Collection

Grartus paid tribute to renowned fashion designer Rahul Mishra with an illustration series inspired by “The Tree of Life,” his Haute Couture Fall-Winter 22-23 collection. Rahul Mishra, the only Indian designer invited by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode to showcase at this prestigious event, presented a collection that redefined the boundaries of haute couture on a global scale.

Grartus illustrated 10 out of the 24 breathtaking looks from Mishra’s collection, capturing the intricate craftsmanship and artistic brilliance of each design. One of the standout pieces, which took an astounding 10,000 human hours to create, stands as a true testament to the artistry of haute couture. Through these illustrations, Grartus beautifully celebrated Mishra’s vision, showcasing how the art of “high sewing” transcends geographical boundaries, weaving together tradition and innovation.
